HARIPUR: Haripur District Police has rolled out a comprehensive security plan to ensure peace and order during Muharram ul Haram. Over 1800 police officers and personnel have been mobilized to fulfill security duties, as announced by District Police Officer (DPO) Haripur here Wednesday.
From the 1st to the 10th of Muharram ul Haram, Haripur district anticipates hosting 35 processions and up to 190 gatherings. To safeguard these events, including Imambargahs and public gatherings, the DPO has deployed a robust force of 1800 officers.
Stringent security measures have been enacted across all procession categories, with strict enforcement against provocative speeches, weapon displays, wall chalking and loudspeaker usage. Additionally, Section 144 has been invoked by the district administration to maintain public order, complemented by intensified checks along both internal and external routes.
In anticipation of increased traffic during central processions of Muharram ul Haram, the authorities have devised an
alternate traffic management plan to ensure smooth flow. Furthermore, a reserve police force has been stationed at Haripur police lines to swiftly address any untoward incidents.
The DPO Haripur has urged the people to cooperate in this regard. H emphasized the importance of refraining from spreading sectarian content on social media platforms. The collaborative efforts between Haripur police and the district administration aim to facilitate a peaceful and respectful observance of Muharram ul Haram, he said.
