ABBOTTABAD:Director-General of Commerce Education and Management Sciences Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Amjad Rafiq, Saturday highlighted the pivotal role of commerce education in higher education.
He said that commerce education plays a significant role in the country’s development and progress, and diligent efforts are being made province-wide to improve and advance commerce colleges.
Dr. Amjad Rafiq expressed these views during the annual performance review meeting held at the Government College of Commerce and Management Sciences in Abbottabad. The meeting included discussions on fulfilling lectures and professor requirements, as well as ensuring the provision of necessary facilities, including furniture.
During the meeting, the principals engaged in a detailed exchange of ideas, particularly focusing on addressing issues. Dr. Amjad Rafiq expressed confidence in resolving these matters effectively. The Provincial Director-General stressed that principals should utilize their capabilities to ensure the delivery of quality education in colleges.
Following Pakistan’s inclusion in the CPEC route, commerce education has gained even more significance in Pakistan, Students pursuing commerce education can shape their futures by contributing to the country’s development, he said.
Dr Amjad Rafiq encouraged the principals to put in their utmost efforts in their respective capacities. Various college principals highlighted issues during the meeting, especially the shortage of staff and other concerns, which were acknowledged and resolved.
On this occasion, Wajid Khatak, President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commerce College Teachers Association, and Dr Hafiz Mohammad Shafiq ur Rahman Abbasi, Secretary of Information, also participated as observers.
They congratulated the Director-General on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed hope that he, along with the team, would introduce improved measures in managing the Commerce College.
