Quetta: Balochistan Finance Department has released Rs 2.25 billion for the Health Card Program.
Finance Department source on Wednesday said that the Balochistan Health Card Program (BHCP) issued by the Balochistan government to provide free medical treatment to poor and deserving patients.
The source said that the BHCP had stopped treating patients under the Balochistan Health Card in private hospitals in Karachi after the State Life Insurance became indebted to Rs 5 billion.
He mentioned that after the news was published, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti took notice of the non-release of money and issued orders to release the money immediately.
After which the Balochistan Finance Department has released Rs 2.25 billion for the Balochistan Health Card, after which the Balochistan Health Card Program is still indebted to State Life by Rs 2.75 billion.
Sources of the health department have expressed hope that under the orders of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Finance Department would also release the remaining money for the Balochistan Health Card Program soon so that there is no obstacle in the treatment of NADRA and deserving patients.
