First executive meeting of Zubedidean Alumni association held at Hyderabad Gymkhana

Hyderabad: The first executive meeting of the Zubedidean Alumni Association was held at Hyderabad Gymkhana, bringing together former students, professors, educationists, and former principals of Government Girls Zubeda College to discuss reviving and developing their historic alma mater.



The meeting was chaired by MNA Mehtab Akbar Rashidi, who is the pride of Pakistan.



The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Prof. Raheela Memon and was conducted by Prof. Mehtab Tanseer under the presidentship of Madam Mehtab Akbar Rashidi.



Principal Prof. Yasmeen Panhwar briefed participants on the college’s present situation and priority development needs.



The meeting focused particularly on the revival of the girls’ hostel, upgrading science laboratories, improving sports facilities and strengthening essential infrastructure.



Members noted that the existing hostel could provide valuable support to students coming from interior Sindh if collective efforts are mobilised to make it functional.



Vice President Ms. Anisa Memon highlighted the importance of reviving the historic legacy of Zubeda College, recalling the contribution and legacy associated with Appa Shams Abbasi. She emphasized that the existing hostel should be restored through collective alumni efforts so that girls can have access to both education and suitable accommodation.



She called upon all Zubedians to come together and make the revival of Zubeda College a shared goal, saying that collective action can help create better educational opportunities for present and future generations.



Prof. Dr. Haseen Musarat presented the proposed objectives and working mechanism of the Alumni Association.



Former Principal Prof. Farah Naz Siddiqui, Dr. Sahar Imdad Hussaini, Madam Aneesa Memon, Madam Farheen and Advocate Prof. Rafia Bangash also shared valuable suggestions.



President Madam Mehtab Akbar Rashdi appreciated the commitment of the participants and called for sustained collective efforts to address the college’s priority needs.



The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Tehmina Gul and a shared commitment to work together for the revival, development and strengthening of Government Girls Zubeda College, Hyderabad.
