Fish exports up by 0.43pc to $22.544 mln in July


Islamabad: The exports of fish and fish preparations from the country witnessed an increase of 0.43 percent during the first month of the current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding month of last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.



The country earned $22.544 million from exports of fish and fish preparations during July 2026 as against $22.447 million during July 2025, showing a growth of 0.43 percent, according to PBS data.



In terms of quantity, the exports of fish and fish preparations however decreased by 1.45 percent, declining from 11,738 metric tons last year to 11,568 metric tons during the month under review.



On a month-on-month basis, the exports of fish and fish preparations decreased by 38.69 percent in dollar terms in July 2026 when compared to exports of $36.770 million in June 2026, the PBS data revealed.



In terms of quantity, the exports posted a decline of 27.58 percent on a month-on-month basis, easing from 11,738 metric tons in June 2026.



The overall food group exports grew by 2.47 percent during the month under review. The food exports were recorded at $437.078 million against the exports of $426.555 million in July 2025.



On month-on-month basis, the food exports increased by 4.28 percent in July 2026 when compared to the exports of $419.155 million in June 2026.
