Chiniot: Food safety teams have intensified their operations against health-threatening elements, carrying out extensive inspections across the district Chiniot to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food for consumers.

In this regard on Sunday, while exclusively talking to reporter, Deputy Director Operations Dr. Muhammad Qasim Raza said that during the ongoing campaign, food safety teams conducted 100 inspections at various food outlets and grocery stores. As a result of violations of food safety laws, fines amounting to Rs 50,000 were imposed on shopkeepers found selling substandard and unsafe food items.

He further disclosed that during the inspections, 38 liters of expired cold drinks and 3 kilograms of expired food products were recovered from grocery stores and subsequently destroyed. Dr. Qasim Raza reaffirmed that strict action would continue against violators to protect public health.
