Former DG PDA among eight booked over illegal marriage hall on govt land in Hayatabad

District

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered a case against eight people, including seven officials of the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and a contractor, over the alleged illegal construction of a marriage hall on government land in Hayatabad Phase-II.

According to the ACE, the case was registered after completion of an inquiry into the alleged illegal allotment of government land for construction of the marriage hall.

Former PDA Director General Riaz Ali has also been nominated in the case.

The ACE said the inquiry was initiated after allegations surfaced that government land had been unlawfully handed over to a favoured individual for construction of the marriage hall.

Following completion of the inquiry, seven PDA officials and a contractor were nominated in the case. The officials include four serving employees and two former officials, while the eighth accused is the contractor.

The ACE said the four serving PDA employees had been arrested.
