Four alleged gamblers arrested in Attock raid, Rs280,000 seized


Attock: Police in Jand arrested four alleged gamblers and seized Rs280,000 in cash during a raid on an alleged gambling den at Railway Ground, officials said on Saturday.



According to police, officers on routine patrol acted on information from an informant that several individuals were gambling with playing cards in an open area beneath trees at the Railway Ground. A police team immediately conducted a raid on the site.



Police said the suspects attempted to flee after mixing up the cash allegedly staked on the game, but four men were arrested at the scene. The suspects were identified as Wajid Ali, Muhammad Irfan, Dilawar and Faqeer Yar, all residents of Sargodha who were reportedly staying at a hotel in Jand.



The arrested men were taken into custody, while police seized Rs280,000 allegedly being used for gambling. A case has been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is underway, police said.
