Sargodha: Deputy Commissioner(DC). Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry has ordered the formation of a joint authority comprising WASA. the District Council. the Municipal Corporation and the Highways Department to expedite the repair and rehabilitation of damaged roads in the city. here on Monday.
Chairing a meeting to review the condition of the city’s roads. the DC directed the four departments to pool their funds and resources and undertake repair work on a priority basis.
He said the joint authority would carry out a detailed survey of major roads and prepare a priority list of routes requiring urgent rehabilitation.
The departments would then jointly utilize their available funds to begin repair and reconstruction work without delay.
Chaudhry directed officials to prioritize roads in the worst condition. particularly those considered important for public movement.
He also ordered the installation of cat’s eyes and streetlights. where necessary as part of the rehabilitation work to improve road safety and traffic flow.
The DC stressed that the resources available with the four departments should be utilized efficiently to improve the overall condition of the city’s road network.
He directed the concerned officers to finalize a feasible action plan and start work on the identified priority roads at the earliest.
