Multan: Friends of Multan made a clean sweep in the corporate sector of the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) elections, securing all 12 seats here on Wednesday.
The successful candidates included Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Sheikh Fazal Elahi, Khawaja Riaz Hussain Siddiqui, Hussain Ahmed Fazal, Dr Muhammad Shafiq Khan Patafi, Sheikh Imran Arshad, Muhammad Aslam Bhutta, Mohiuddin Aurangzeb Alamgir, Muhammad Bilal Ahmed Sheikh, Khawaja Muhammad Umar, Mehboob Elahi and Muhammad Aslam.
As soon as the results for all 12 corporate-sector seats were announced, a wave of jubilation swept through the Friends of Multan supporters at the election venue.
The supporters celebrated by dancing to the beat of drums and raising slogans in favour of their group and victorious candidates. The successful candidates were also presented with flower garlands and congratulated by their supporters and colleagues.
Friends of Multan candidates and their supporters described the victory as a significant success in the chamber elections, saying that the business community has expressed its confidence in their candidates by electing them to all corporate-sector seats.
On the other hand, none of the Founder Group candidates could secure a seat in the corporate sector, giving Friends of Multan a 12-0 lead in the 12 corporate-sector seats.
