GCWUF launches flagship ‘Bloom: Center for Wellness and Happiness’

Faisalabad: Vice Chancellor Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen inaugurated flagship wellness initiative ‘Bloom: Center for Wellness and Happiness’ at GCWUF to promote mental, physical, and general well-being of students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community.



GCWUF spokesperson said that the Bloom Center brings three specialized units under one roof including the Nutrition Counseling Clinic, the Serenity Psychological Wellness Hub, and the Health Clinic. Together, these facilities offer expert diet and nutrition consultation, dedicated mental health counseling, and basic healthcare services supervised by a qualified Medical Officer, she added.



Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen emphasized that the university’s responsibility extends beyond conventional education.



She noted that higher education institutions must actively help students and staff to lead healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.



GCWUF Registrar, Incharge Bloom Center Dr. Saira Khan and academic and administrative department heads attended the event, which culminated in a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Vice Chancellor to mark the milestone.



Beyond serving the university community, the Bloom Center will open its doors to women from the wider Faisalabad region.



The university administration confirmed plans to further expand the range of healthcare services offered at the center in the future, spokesperson added.
