Karachi: Governor Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori on Tuesday assented to the Sindh Safe Cities Authority (Amendment) Bill 2025 under Article 116 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Following the Governor’s approval, the said amendment bill has come into force immediately, said a statement.
Under the amended law, the systems for public safety, surveillance, use of modern technology, and law and order in the province of Sindh will be made more effective and robust. The expansion in the scope of the Sindh Safe Cities Authority will help in crime prevention, timely monitoring, and ensuring the protection of the public.
On this occasion, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the government’s foremost priority, and aligning the Sindh Safe Cities Authority with modern requirements will lead to further improvement in the law and order situation.
