Governor visits homes of Pakistanis martyred in Somalia

Karachi: On the directives of the Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh spokesperson Asad Usmani and Social Media Team President Khurram Abbas Bhatti here on Friday visited the homes of Pakistani citizens martyred in Somalia and met their bereaved families.



On this occasion, Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi spoke with the bereaved families over the telephone and expressed his heartfelt condolences and deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was handling the matter concerning Pakistani citizens in Somalia on a priority basis. As Pakistan does not have an embassy in Somalia, the Pakistani Ambassador based in Djibouti had been sent to Somalia to oversee the situation.



He further stated that the Pakistani Ambassador was monitoring the situation concerning the martyred and injured Pakistani citizens as well as other Pakistanis present there, and was in contact with the relevant authorities regarding the latest developments.



Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi assured the affected Pakistani families that all possible assistance and support would be provided during this difficult time.



He also prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs, the speedy recovery of the injured, and patience and strength for the bereaved families.
