Quetta: The Balochistan Social Welfare Department is taking concrete steps to promote the education, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities (PWDs), Director General Saifullah Khetran said on Thursday.
He made these remarks during a visit to the Deaf Reach School in Quetta, where school uniforms were distributed among 272 hearing-impaired students.
He said that the initiative was aimed at providing essential educational support to the students and encouraging them to pursue their education with confidence, dignity and a strong sense of belonging.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General Social Welfare Saifullah Khetran said that children with disabilities are an integral and valuable part of our society.
He emphasized that providing them with equal opportunities, educational facilities and a supportive environment is a shared responsibility of the government and society.
He further stated that the Social Welfare Department is committed to translating the vision of the Chief Minister into practical and meaningful initiatives for vulnerable and marginalized segments of society, particularly persons with disabilities.
The distribution of uniforms among 272 students is another step towards creating an inclusive Balochistan, where every child is given the opportunity to learn, develop their abilities and contribute positively to society.
He said that the Social Welfare Department would continue to strengthen its initiatives for the education, rehabilitation, protection, inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities throughout Balochistan.
