Hyderabad: Helping Hand Nawabshah with the support of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, organized a ceremony for the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities.
The program was held Wednesday at HM Khoja Auditorium. The ceremony was attended by Member Sindh Assembly Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, Helping Hand Sindh Manager Ali Muhammad Pathan, Helping Hand District Manager Shah Rukh Saleem, Regional Director Special Education Nisar Ahmed Brohi, and other officials.
They distributed assistive devices to more than 150 persons with disabilities and special children.
Addressing the ceremony, the Speakers said that Government of Sindh is committed to empowering persons with disabilities by ensuring equal opportunities, promoting their inclusion, and improving their welfare through practical initiatives.
They said that programs organized by Helping Hand play a significant role in bringing positive change to the lives of persons with disabilities and enabling them to become more independent.
District Manager Helping Hand, Shah Rukh Saleem, said that the objective of the program was to empower people with physical disabilities, improve their mobility, and help them lead dignified and independent lives. Under the program, deserving beneficiaries received wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, and other assistive medical devices free of cost.
A large number of Special Education officials, persons with disabilities, and their families attended the event. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Government of Sindh and Helping Hand for providing assistive devices.
