Health Minister inaugurates CO-Ablation Cancer treatment machine


Faisalabad: Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique inaugurated a state-of-the-art CO-Ablation Cancer treatment machine at Radiology Department of Allied Hospital-I Faisalabad on Tuesday. During his visit to Allied Hospital-I, Khawaja Salman Rafique formally inaugurated the newly installed CO-Ablation Cancer machine and reviewed the facilities being made available to cancer patients through the latest technology. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Punjab government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was taking practical measures to provide cancer patients with the latest treatment facilities at their doorstep and introduction of CO-Ablation technology was an important development in cancer care. He said that five modern CO-Ablation Cancer machines had been procured for Punjab and these were being installed at major healthcare facilities in Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi to expand access to advanced cancer treatment across the province.



He said that modern CO-Ablation Cancer machines were also being installed at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research, further strengthening the province’s specialized cancer-care infrastructure. He said that availability of the advanced technology in Faisalabad would provide a major facility to local cancer patients, enabling them to benefit from modern treatment without having to travel to other cities for the same services. He said the Punjab government was committed to improve cancer treatment facilities and it was pursuing a comprehensive approach to introduce modern technologies in the health sector. The provision of advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment was part of the government’s broader efforts to improve the quality of healthcare services, he added. He described CO-Ablation Cancer technology as an important advancement in the treatment of cancer patients and said that its introduction would prove a significant convenience for patients requiring specialized care.



He said that promotion of modern technology in the health sector was key priority of Punjab government and all available resources would be utilized to equip public hospitals with advanced treatment facilities. He said that installation of modern cancer treatment machines would help strengthen specialized healthcare services in the province and ensure that patients could receive quality treatment in public sector hospitals. The newly introduced technology in Faisalabad would significantly benefit cancer patients and further improve capacity of public healthcare institutions to provide modern and effective treatment, he added.
