Abbottabad: Heavy rainfall has caused waterlogging on Mandian Road, Supply, Jinnahabad, and several other major roads in Abbottabad, disrupting the smooth flow of traffic here on Friday.
Traffic police officers and personnel were actively engaged in restoring traffic flow and assisting commuters in the affected areas.
The Traffic Police Abbottabad has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel. In case of essential travel, commuters are urged to use alternate routes and drive with caution.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Abbottabad, Muhammad Ishtiaq, visited Mandian, Supply, Small Industry Road, and other key roads to inspect the traffic situation and assess the impact of the recent rains.
During the visit, the SSP reviewed the condition of Small Industry Road and other rain-affected locations, where damaged road surfaces and waterlogging have created difficulties for motorists and disrupted traffic movement.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure the effective implementation of a comprehensive traffic management plan to maintain the smooth flow of traffic despite the damaged roads.
He also instructed them to deploy adequate traffic personnel at key points to guide motorists and minimise inconvenience to the public.
In addition, SSP Traffic Muhammad Ishtiaq visited several educational institutions located along Mandian Road to assess traffic congestion during school opening and closing hours.
