Lahore: Keeping in mind the severe cold and the health of students, the holidays of educational institutions in Punjab have been extended by a week.
This decision was announced by Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat through his social media page.
According to the Education Minister, this decision was made on the basis of public consultation and a survey conducted on social media, in which a clear majority voted in favor of extending the holidays.
The Education Minister said that now educational institutions across Punjab will reopen from January 19.
According to Rana Sikandar Hayat, about 87 percent of people voted in favor of extending the holidays in the public survey, while 13 percent of people supported opening educational institutions on January 12.
In the Education Minister’s poll, 154,178 votes were cast in favor of January 19, while 24,829 votes were cast in favor of January 12.
