Quetta: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, after completing a departmental inquiry, on Wednesday dismissed former Acting Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) City Turbat, Inspector Sher Jan from the police service for gross negligence, incompetence, mismanagement and failure to perform duties.
In light of the recommendations of the inquiry committee, a final show cause notice was issued to the accused officer. In this regard, even after responding to the recommendations of the investigation committee and the inquiry and after a personal hearing, he could not effectively refute the allegations or present any acceptable and solid justification.
The Balochistan Police Spokesperson said that negligence, mismanagement and breach of discipline in the performance of duties would not be tolerated in the police department under any circumstances and strict action would be taken against the officials who neglect their responsibilities to protect the lives and property of the public as per the law and rules.
Meanwhile, the process of giving cash rewards, appreciation certificates and promotions to the officials according to the reward and punishment under the self-accountability process system in the department was also underway.
