IGP takes notice of triple murder in Rahim Yar Khan


Lahore: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem has taken notice of the triple murder in Rahim Yar Khan and sought a report from regional police officer (RPO) Bahawalpur. The IGP directed district police officer (DPO) Rahim Yar Khan to ensure the immediate arrest of the accused involved in the killings and utilise all available resources for the purpose.



According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, unidentified assailants opened fire on three men – Sardar Alamgir, Mashooq Hussain and Nazim – while they were sleeping at a dera in Basti Sher Bahadur Dinon Shah, within the jurisdiction of Ahmadpur Lamma Police Station.



The assailants fled the scene after the attack, the spokesperson said. Following the incident, senior police officers and forensic teams reached the crime scene and collected important evidence, the spokesperson added.



The DPO has constituted special police teams to arrest the accused, while raids are being conducted at various locations, the spokesperson said. The DPO expressed confidence that the accused would be arrested soon.
