Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Wednesday chaired an important meeting to review progress on various development projects underway in provincial constituency PP-153.
The meeting reviewed projects including the Rs4. 5 billion Harbanspura-to-Phatak Saddar Cantt trunk sewerage scheme, installation of tube wells in Amna Park, UC-148, at a cost of Rs1. 1 billion, besides street repairs, sewerage improvement and provision of clean drinking water.
The meeting was informed that hundreds of streets had already been repaired in PP-153, while work was in progress on several other development schemes. Their completion would provide improved civic facilities to millions of residents of the area, the participants were told.
Khawaja Salman Rafique directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of all ongoing development projects in PP-153.
He said resolving public problems was the government’s top priority and development projects were being continuously monitored to ensure transparency and quality.
The minister said that, in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, provision of basic facilities to the people was a foremost priority of the Punjab government.
He said the government’s journey towards development and prosperity would continue, adding that no compromise would be made on the quality of development projects. Continuous monitoring would also be ensured to maintain the required standards, he added.
Director LDA Haroon Saifi, Deputy Directors LDA Aqeel and Samiullah, Executive Engineer WASA Salman Mirza and other officers attended the meeting. Syed Ikhlas Shah, Zulfiqar Bhatti, Naeem Shahzad Bhatti and Abdul Wahab were also present.
