ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected the request for immediate stay of the trial court’s proceedings against ex-PTI chairman in NAB references.
The IHC bench comprising Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the case filed by the founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against his trial in two references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) pertaining to the 190 million pounds scam and Toshakhana gifts.
During the course of proceedings, the petitioner’s lawyer Shoaib Shaheen argued that the trial court was hearing the references on daily basis and so far it had recorded the statements of 11 witnesses.
He prayed the court to stay the trial court’s proceeding till next date.
The chief justice remarked that the trial was not concluded yet. He said that the court would view on next hearing if the notification of Federal Government was as per the law.

The court ten adjourned the case till Tuesday.
