Independence Day celebrations held in Naran with national spirit


Naran: Independence Day celebrations were held in Naran with national spirit and enthusiasm under the directions of Chief Secretary Shahabuddin Shah, Special Assistant for Culture, Tourism and Archaeology Malik Adil Iqbal, and Director General Rahmat Ali.



A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Camp Office in Naran, attended by KDA officers and staff, representatives of the Hotels Association, tourists, police and forest departments, and officials of various government departments.



A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a salute to the national flag. Mufti Yasir, Imam of Jamia Mosque Naran, offered special prayers for the progress, prosperity and security of Pakistan, as well as for the forgiveness and elevation of the ranks of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.



An Independence Day cake was also cut during the ceremony, while saplings were planted as part of the ongoing monsoon plantation campaign.



A flag march was also organized by various government departments. The march started from the KDA office, passed through Naran Bazaar and concluded at Dam Dama, with officers and representatives of different departments participating.



A rafting competition in the crystal-clear waters of the River Kunhar was among the main attractions of the celebrations. Various rafting operators participated, while a large number of local residents and tourists watched the competition with keen interest.



The celebrations also included a spectacular fireworks display in front of the KDA office on the night of August 13, adding to the festive atmosphere in the popular tourist destination.
