Peshawar: Directorate of Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, organized an event to observe International Day of Non-Violence at the Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar.
A total of 90 young students from various universities and colleges and newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the event.
The event aimed to promote the values of peace, tolerance and mutual respect among the youth and to sensitize them about the importance of non-violence as a tool for social change.
The speakers shed light on the philosophy of non-violence in the light of Islamic teachings and contemporary world challenges. They emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace and that non-violence, dialogue and tolerance are key to countering extremism and building a cohesive society.
The event concluded with an interactive session where students actively participated and shared their views. Certificates were distributed among the participants at the end of the ceremony.
