Bahawalpur: The Culture Promotion Society, Directorate of Students Affairs, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), organised a Cultural Peace Walk at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus to mark the International Day of Peace.
The walk was led by Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages Professor Dr. Syed Aamir Sohail. A large number of students from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, representing various provinces, ethnicities and linguistic communities of Pakistan, participated in the walk.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages Professor Dr. Syed Aamir Sohail, said that culture serves as a medium through which people connect with one another and promotes mutual understanding, harmony and respect among diverse communities. Chairman Department of Saraiki Dr. Mumtaz Baloch, Advisor, Culture Promotion Society Dr. Athar Lashari, Co-Advisor Culture Promotion Society Sibtain Yasir Gopang, Advisor IUB Art and Photography Society Farjad Faiz and other faculty members also expressed their views during the event. The participants highlighted the importance of peace, cultural diversity, tolerance and mutual respect, reaffirming the role of universities in promoting social harmony and fostering an inclusive environment among students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
