Peshawar: Judicial Commission has approved the permanent appointment of six additional judges of the Peshawar High Court, while granting a six-month extension to four others.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Judicial Commission held to consider the regularization of 10 additional judges of the Peshawar High Court.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi. Members of the commission unanimously approved the permanent appointment of six judges and the extension in tenure of four additional judges for six months.
The meeting also reviewed the cases of PHC Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayyaz, and Justice Farah Jamshed in connection with their permanent appointments.
According to the approved decisions, the tenure of Additional Judge Justice Inamullah Khan, Additional Judge Justice Farah Jamshed, Additional Judge Justice Sabitullah, and Additional Judge Justice Aurangzeb has been extended for a period of six months.
Meanwhile, the Judicial Commission approved the permanent appointment of Additional Judge Justice Sadiq Ali, Additional Judge Justice Mudassar Ameer, Additional Judge Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, and Additional Judge Justice Abdul Fayyaz.
In addition, the commission also approved the permanent appointment of Additional Judge Justice Islahuddin and Additional Judge Justice Qazi Jawad Ehsanullah.
The decisions are seen as a significant step towards strengthening the judiciary and ensuring continuity and efficiency in the functioning of the PHC.
