Kohat: District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, has intensified public outreach and road safety initiatives by holding daily open courts at his office and launching a district-wide awareness campaign on traffic rules and helmet use, the local correspondent of reporter on Monday reported this from Kohat.
According to the details, the daily Khuli Katchery provides citizens with direct access to the district police chief to present complaints and grievances.
During the sessions, SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal listens to public concerns and issues on-the-spot directives to the relevant police officers for their prompt and lawful resolution. He urged citizens to approach his office without hesitation, saying strong police-public relations were essential for maintaining peace and ensuring timely justice.
Meanwhile, Kohat Traffic Police, acting on the DPO’s special directives, launched an awareness campaign to promote compliance with traffic laws and the mandatory use of helmets. The campaign was supervised by DSP Traffic Shaukat Hayat, Traffic Warden Incharge Arab Jan and other traffic personnel and covered major roads and key intersections across the district.
During the campaign, motorcyclists were briefed on the importance of wearing helmets to reduce the risk of serious injuries in road accidents, while free helmets were also distributed among riders. Traffic authorities urged citizens to follow traffic laws, ensure that both riders and pillion passengers wear helmets and cooperate with police to promote safer travel on roads.
