KP CM-led long march reaches Lachi; Kohat Board postpones Matric exams

Kohat: A long march led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi reached Lachi in Kohat district on Tuesday, where participants were warmly received by local residents and supporters.



According to organizers, arrangements for food and accommodation have been finalized for the participants, who will stay overnight at Lachi Ground. Caravans from Hangu, Orakzai and Kurram are scheduled to reach Kohat on Tuesday to join the central convoy before proceeding collectively towards Peshawar.



Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Kohat has postponed the first four papers of the Matriculation Annual Examination-II, 2026, in view of the prevailing situation in the province. The paper scheduled for October 7 will now be held on October 28, October 8 paper on October 29, October 9 paper on October 30 and October 10 paper on October 31.



The Controller of Examinations said all remaining papers would be conducted according to the original schedule. Meanwhile, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said federal authorities were holding consultations over the possibility of imposing an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
