KP governor take notices of power loadshedding; asks PESCO to provide relief to consumers

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor on Thursday chaired a meeting of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) here at the governor house and expressed concerns over unscheduled and prolonged load-shedding in provincial capital.

The governor remarked that WAPDA should have to realize the public problems and sufferings due to load-shedding adding that people are very restless due to power outage in hot summer.

He noted that even the customers who pay 100 per cent electricity bills were also facing the issue of power load-shedding. The Governor asked WAPDA and PESCO to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity to the consumers.

PESCO Chief Fazal Rabi informed the governor that work on Warsak Road Grid Station has been completed and only installation of transmission lines was remaining, adding that the up-gradation of Warsak Power House to be completed by August 28 would address the issue.

He said that power load-shedding is being carried out as per the schedule issued by the Central Office.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Operations PESCO Kashif Kamran, City, Superintendent Engineer Shahabuddin, XENs Peshawar City Division, Cantt and Khyber Division, and representatives of WAPDA and relevant authorities.

The meeting discussed the hardships and difficulties being faced by the people due to unscheduled load-shedding in Peshawar city and suburbs including Warsak Road.
