KP Govt cooperation vital to eliminate terrorism: Dr Tariq

Islamabad

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday said that cooperation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was vital to eliminating the menace of terrorism from the region.

Speaking to a private television channel, the minister said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing serious terrorism-related challenges, urging the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and the provincial government to extend full support to law enforcement agencies.

He said coordinated efforts by the provincial government and law enforcement agencies were necessary to address terrorism-related challenges effectively.

Commenting on the long march announced by the PTI, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said the party had repeatedly created law and order problems through such protests. He warned that long marches could negatively affect the country’s economic progress.

On the possibility of political dialogue, he urged the PTI to avoid the long march and come forward to initiate talks to resolve political issues through dialogue.
