KP livestock launches vaccination campaign for cattle against lampy skin disease

District

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Livestock and Dairy Development Department launched a vaccination drive on Sunday targeting lumpy skin disease and other animal ailments across the province.

Mobile veterinary teams have been deployed to remote and far flung areas to deliver essential health services directly to farmers’ doorsteps.

To safeguard animal health and prevent economic losses, the campaign administers vaccines against high mortality conditions, including Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR).

Additionally, the department is utilizing digital monitoring tools to track field activities, vaccine usage, and coverage rates, ensuring transparency, effective oversight, and timely reporting.
