Peshawar: A delegation of lawyers led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council member Sardar Hashmat Nawaz Sadozai called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi here on Wednesday and discussed issues being faced by the legal community.
The delegation included Vice President High Court Bar Association Shah Fahad Ansari, Advocate Supreme Court; General Secretary District Bar Association Dera Ismail Khan Sardar Adnan Sadozai; General Secretary Peoples Lawyers Forum Dera Division Sardar Hifzullah Gandapur; General Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Dera Ismail Khan Malik Abid Awan; and Advocate Pir Adnan Shah Gilani.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on various problems confronting the lawyers’ fraternity.
The delegation stressed the need for the release of funds for Tehsil Bar Association Parova, Tehsil Bar Association Paharpur, District Bar Association Waziristan and District Bar Association Tank, and apprised the Governor of the hurdles in this regard.
Matters related to the Pakistan Peoples Party and organizational issues were also discussed.
The delegation emphasized the need for practical measures to resolve lawyers’ issues and to overcome the financial difficulties being faced by bar associations.
It was agreed that mutual cooperation would be further strengthened to address the problems of the legal community and to enhance institutional capacity, while raising an effective voice at relevant forums.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi assured the delegation of full cooperation in the release of funds for bar councils. The delegation thanked the Governor for the provision of grants to District Bar Association Dera Ismail Khan, Tehsil Bar Association Kulachi and Tehsil Bar Association Daraban.
