Dera ismail khan: A meeting to discuss matters regarding the repatriation of illegally residing Afghan nationals was held here on Friday.
The meeting chaired by Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division, Dawood Khan, was convened in light of the directives issued by the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure effective implementation of the government’s policy on the return of illegal foreign nationals.
Regional Police Officer D.I. Khan Region Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Deputy Commissioner D.I. Khan Abdul Nasir Khan, and District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements made for the identification, registration, and dignified repatriation of illegal Afghan citizens.
The commissioner was briefed on progress achieved so far, challenges being faced, and the security measures put in place.
The commissioner directed all relevant departments to work in close coordination to ensure transparent and effective implementation of the government policy.
He stressed that action against illegally residing individuals would be taken strictly in accordance with the law, while emphasizing that women, children, and sick persons must be treated with compassion and on humanitarian grounds.
He further instructed security agencies to ensure foolproof security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents during the process.
The meeting also decided to review progress on a daily basis and concerned departments would submit timely reports.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to complete the repatriation process in a peaceful, organized, and lawful manner in line with the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
