Lahore: The Safe Cities Authority’s ‘Meri Pehchan’ team has successfully completed the
identification of 26 individuals and five unidentified bodies in a single day. According to the Safe City spokesperson, the ‘Meri Pehchan’ team visited the Punjab Institute of mental health and conducted biometric scans of 51 mentally and physically impaired individuals.
Using a biometric system linked with NADRA, the team successfully identified 26 of these 51 individuals and subsequently retrieved their relevant identification records.
The spokesperson added that on the same day, the ‘Meri Pehchan’ team also completed the identification of five unidentified bodies through biometric scanning.
To date, the ‘Meri Pehchan’ team has identified over 5,000 unclaimed bodies, while the ‘Meri Pehchan’ center has reunited more than 4,000 mentally and physically impaired individuals with their families.
