Mirpur: Member of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and former Information Minister Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah has described the completion of Jamia Masjid Khatam-un-Nabiyeen (PBUH) as an important milestone in promoting religious education, spiritual development and social harmony in the area.
Addressing the Jumma congregation after attending the mosque’s inauguration ceremony in the state metropolis on Friday, he said mosques served as important centres of Muslim unity, religious learning, spiritual growth and social reform. He added that regular congregations and religious activities at mosques played a vital role in fostering Islamic values and strengthening the moral and spiritual character of society.
Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah congratulated the local community on the completion of the mosque and appreciated the individuals and organizations whose contributions helped bring the project to fruition. He said the establishment and development of places of worship not only carried religious significance but also provided an important platform for the moral and religious training of the younger generation.
Ulema, political and social figures, community elders and a large number of residents attended the inauguration ceremony, where speakers also highlighted various religious and social reform issues.
The gathering concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity, the early success of the Kashmir freedom struggle, peace and development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the safety and success of the Pakistan Army, elevation of the ranks of Kashmir martyrs, and unity and progress of the Muslim Ummah.
