Hyderabad: A tragic incident of alleged suicide has been reported in Bhungwar Colony within the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station. According to report, the incident took place at the historic Umar bin Khattab Mosque, where the pesh imam, Maulvi Ayaz Channa, reportedly took his own life. Area residents said that Maulvi Ayaz Channa had been serving as the pesh imam at the Masjid for approximately 40 years.
Upon receiving information about the incident, SHO Waseem Mirza, along with Head Moharrar Ashraf Solangi and a police team, reached the scene promptly. Police have started collecting evidence from the site, while further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
