HYDERABAD:Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Jamshoro has clinched the Pakistan Inter-University Volleyball Championship Zone-K defeating Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam in the final here on Tuesday.
The championship was hosted by the Directorate of Sports, Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam, the university spokesman informed.
The first set of the match was secured by Mehran University with 25-19 however in the second set, Team Sindh Agriculture University came back and succeeded in winning with 25-17. In the third and final set, Team Mehran University outclassed the opponents by defeating them 16-14 and clinched MUET the Championship Zone K.
Muhammad Afaq and Fareed Ahmed Channar of Mehran University and Kamran Hussain and Hasnain of SAU played outstanding in the final of the championship.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri and Registrar Ghulam Mohiyuddin Qureshi distributed trophies and prizes among the captains of the winning and runner-up teams.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri said that besides academic and research activities, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has provided opportunities for healthy activities to the students which he said is necessary for them.
Besides Team Sindh Agriculture University, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana volleyball teams, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, and Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro participated in the championship.
