N-25 dualization mega project reviewed in high-level meeting


Quetta: A crucial meeting of the Project Facilitation Committee on the N-25 Dualization Mega Project was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Communications and Works Babar Khan, where ongoing progress, challenges, and solutions were thoroughly examined.



The meeting was attended by Member National Highway Authority (NHA) Balochistan Basharat Hussain, Frontier Works Organization’s Colonel Shahid Abbasi, GM Karachi-Khuzdar Section Kashif Sheikh, Project Director N-25 Kuchlak-Chaman Riaz Ahmed, NHA Director Legal Abdul Manan, and Chief Engineer Federal Projects Dr. Sajjad Baloch via Zoom. Senior officials from other relevant departments also participated.



Officials provided a detailed briefing on the overall progress of the project. Discussions covered the construction of bypasses in towns and cities along the N-25 route, institutional and security-level issues, relocation of crush plants, and a tree plantation campaign along the highway. Authorities also highlighted obstacles and shared possible solutions to ensure smooth implementation.



Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Babar Khan emphasized that the N-25 Dualization Project is of critical importance for the province. He noted that its completion will serve as a milestone in Balochistan’s economic and social development, improving travel facilities, boosting trade activities, reducing travel time, and ensuring a safer and more efficient traffic system.



He stressed that the timely and quality completion of the project is among the government’s top priorities. All relevant institutions were directed to work in close coordination to resolve outstanding issues swiftly so that the project can be completed within the stipulated timeframe.



At the conclusion of the meeting, necessary instructions were issued to concerned departments, with a collective resolve that the N-25 Dualization Project will be expedited to provide the public with modern, safe, and high-quality travel facilities.
