Naseem Nagar police arrest murder accused, lodge FIR


Hyderabad: In the case of murder of the Superintendent of Government Girls College, Qasimabad, the Naseem Nagar police here on Sunday lodged an FIR besides arresting the main accused.



According to details, the case has been lodged on the complaint of Asif Akhund, nephew of the slain 50 years old Riaz Akhund, who was allegedly shot dead by his sister in law’s husband Fayaz Memon over property dispute.



The police claimed that they also recovered a pistol and live bullets believed to have been used in the crime.



The complainant stated that the dispute cropped up between Akhund and Memon over their father in law’s property.



The Mayor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) Kashif Ali Shoro expressed sadness over the killing, appreciating the Akhund family’s contribution in the academic arena.



He assured the family of his complete cooperation as the police investigated the case to bring the culprit to the book.
