Islamabad: The Pak Mission Society (PMS) on Tuesday hosted the National Climate Exhibition and Advocacy Dialogue 2026 under the Child-Driven Climate Action (CDCA) Project.
The event, supported by Kindernothilfe (KNH) and Germany’s BMZ, was held under the theme ‘Youth-Led Climate Solutions for a Resilient Pakistan. ‘
The national-level event brought together government representatives, parliamentarians, policymakers, climate experts, academia, civil society, development partners, private sector representatives, and young climate leaders to showcase innovative climate solutions and strengthen youth participation in climate policy and decision-making. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Programme Officer of Pak Mission Society, Mr. Wakeel Ahmed Khan, highlighted the significant achievements of CDCA over the past year.
He emphasized the growing role of children and youth in advancing climate awareness, advocacy, and practical environmental action across communities.
Khan noted that young people are becoming key drivers of change by leading campaigns, participating in plantation drives, and promoting sustainable practices in schools.
He stressed that empowering children with knowledge and skills is essential for building a climate-resilient future and ensuring long-term environmental protection in Pakistan.
The programme also featured keynote contributions from the Director General, Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA), the CEO, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC), and Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change and Environmental Protection.
A major highlight of the event was the showcase of CDCA achievements and Green Club initiatives, demonstrating how children and young people are taking action on climate awareness, environmental protection, advocacy, and community resilience.
The event featured a high-level panel discussion on ‘Empowering Youth for Climate Leadership, Innovation, Green Jobs and Entrepreneurship, ‘ moderated by Fizza Hameed Khan, with panelists Khoja Sheraz, NYLP; Ms. Amna Munawwar Awan, President, Centre of Climate Diplomacy; Dr. Zaigham Abbas, Director, Pak-EPA; and Sher Shah Khan, Co-Founder, Skillistan.
The dialogue further placed youth voices at the centre of climate policy through the presentation of the Five Youth Climate Demands, developed through the CDCA Project.
