Need stressed to promote outcome-based education

Bahawalpur: A meeting of the Deans’ Committee was held at the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS) under the chairmanship of Professor Dr Muhammad Tariq Javed to review measures to promote outcome-based education.



According to an official press release issued here, the meeting focused on teaching quality, research activities, modern educational strategies, innovation, international collaboration, and various initiatives aimed at aligning the university with global academic standards.



The participants reviewed a range of proposals concerning quality teaching, modern instructional methodologies, curriculum enhancement, the promotion of undergraduate and postgraduate education, interdisciplinary research, quality assurance, digital learning, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), research commercialization, and measures to further strengthen an innovation-driven academic environment. The participants of the meeting agreed to strengthen efforts to promote outcome-based education.



Special emphasis was placed on making effective use of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Global Scholars Network to connect CUVAS faculty members and researchers with leading universities, renowned scientists, and international research institutions around the world.



The committee also held detailed discussions on opportunities for joint research projects, international research publications, academic exchange programs, faculty development, advanced research training, scholarly collaboration, and securing competitive research grants, with the objective of further enhancing the university’s international reputation and research excellence.



Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Javed emphasized the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and international engagement as key pillars for strengthening CUVAS’s role as a leading institution in veterinary, animal, and agricultural sciences.
