University of Haripur promotes six associate professors to BPS-21

Haripur: The University of Haripur on Monday completed the long-pending promotion process of its senior-most BPS-20 associate professors to BPS-21 professor positions, ending a five-year wait for six faculty members.

The promoted teachers included Dr Shah Masood Khan, Dr Ijaz Hussain, Dr Zahoor Ahmed, Dr Muhammad Jahangir, Dr Ali Raza Gurmanni and Dr Samiullah Niazi.

According to university sources, the promotions were finalised in accordance with the directions of the Peshawar High Court Abbottabad Bench, decisions of the University Syndicate and Senate, and the required No Objection Certificate from the Higher Education Department.

The process for BPS-21 posts was initially initiated in 2021 but remained pending for several years. The affected teachers later approached the Peshawar High Court Abbottabad Bench, which directed the university administration to complete the process within one month.

Following the court’s directions and subsequent approvals by the University Syndicate and Senate, along with the Higher Education Department’s NOC, the promotion process was finally completed.
