Sukkur: An open kachehri was held at the District Accounts Office Khairpur under the chairmanship of Advisor and Regional Director Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Umar Farooq Bullo to address public complaints and issues relating to salaries, pensions, General Provident Fund (GP Fund), retirement benefits and other matters, here on Wednesday.

District Accounts Officer Ghulam Sarwar Chachar, Additional District Accounts Officer Imran Ali Birahmani, Additional District Accounts Officer-II Saiqa Imdad Mangi, Idrees Ghuniyo, Sikandar Mahar and other concerned officers attended the open kachehri.

Citizens presented their complaints and applications before the Regional Director who heard their grievances and issued necessary directions to the concerned officers for their resolution in accordance with rules and regulations. Several complaints were resolved on the spot while directions were issued for the early disposal of remaining cases.

Umar Farooq Bullo directed the officers to process cases involving complete documentation and fulfillment of legal requirements without unnecessary delay. He emphasized that citizens should not be compelled to make repeated visits to offices and should be treated with courtesy, respect and cooperation.

He further directed that applicants should be properly guided about the status of their cases and informed in time if any required document or legal requirement was incomplete. Where a case could not be processed under the applicable rules the applicant should be provided with a clear explanation and written response.

The Regional Director directed that pension, GP Fund and retirement-related matters be given special priority and resolved at the earliest in accordance with the prescribed rules. He also called for special facilitation of elderly citizens, pensioners and persons with disabilities visiting government offices.

He stressed that public complaints should not remain pending without valid reasons and that prescribed procedures and timelines must be followed. In case of an officer’s absence or leave, an authorized officer should be assigned additional charge to ensure continuity of official work and public services.

He also emphasized that complaints should be addressed through practical and timely action rather than being limited to routine paperwork, while proper records of action taken on public grievances should be maintained.

Speaking to the media Advisor Provincial Ombudsman Umar Farooq Bullo said that the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh is making efforts across the province to ensure timely redressal of public complaints and provide relief to citizens.

He said open kachehries provide citizens with a direct platform to present their grievances, seek resolution of their problems and bring their issues before the concerned authorities.
