ATC declares Ali Amin Gandur as absconder on disappearance

Islamabad: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday declared Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and others as proclaimed offender in a terrorism case registered by I-9 Police Station in 2022.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sapra heard the case registered by capital police against Ali Amin Gandpur and other PTI leaders on violent protest on disqualification of PTI founder. PTI leaders Faisal Javed and Wasiq Qayum appeared before the court during the hearing.

The court declared Ali Amin Gandapur and accused Umar Tanvir Butt as absconder due to continuous disappearance, and separated the case proceeding against them. The court also ordered to initiate the proceeding to declare Aamer Kayani as pro-claimed offender on his not appearance despite the repeated summons.

During hearing, PTI's leader Faisal Javed filed an application seeking to remove the clauses of anti-terrorism act in the court.

The court also issued arrest warrants against the absence accused and sought arguments on January 15.

It may be mentioned here that I-9 Police Station had registered a case against the accused in 2022.

WCLA signs MoU with Women University


Lahore: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) to promote tourism, heritage and research.



It was mutually agreed that the WCLA and the LCWU would collaborate with each other to organise tours and events in order to promote heritage.



Kamran Lashari, Director General of the Walled City of Lahore Authority, stressed the close link between heritage and education at the MoU signing ceremony. He highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the nation’s history and culture to foster understanding and pride. Lashari expressed gratitude to Lahore College for Women University for their partnership, noting that such collaborations are key to inspiring future generations to engage with and protect regional heritage.



Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University, said, ‘It is one of our priorities to educate our students about the history and culture of the country. We encourage our students to carry out research and explore the topics which are related to the society, culture and history of our region so that their understanding of our rich cultural legacy could be developed. In this regard, this Memorandum of Understanding will benefit in our cause as we shall make our students take part in the events and guided tours organized by the Walled City of Lahore Authority’.

RCCI, CCP organize session on ‘Competition Law.’


Islamabad: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), in collaboration with the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), organized a session on ‘Competition Law.’



Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman, Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), who was the chief guest on the occasion, also held a meeting with RCCI President Usman Shaukat and Group Leader Sohail Altaf and discussed matters related to close and continued cooperation between the organizations, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.



SVP Khalid Farooq Qazi, Executive Committee members, and RCCI members were also present on the occasion.

KP Food Authority continues operation in DIKhan

Dera ismail khan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (FS and HFA) on Wednesday conducted operations and checked the quality of food items at various shops in DI Khan, aiming to ensure the provision of quality food items across the city.

According to the details, on the direction of Deputy Director Halal Food Authority Dera Muhammad Asif, different teams of KP FS and HFA conducted raids on dairy shops, grocery stores, bakeries, milk shops, food and drink points at Sheikh Yousaf Adda and adjacent areas.

The authority's team inspected various food items and checked these items at the mobile laboratory on the spot, besides sending some samples to the laboratory for further examination. Counterfeit and substandard food items, including biscuits, cakes, drinks, and milk, were seized from grocery stores and milk shops during the operation. The owners were heavily fined in accordance with the Food Safety Act, and further action is being taken as per the act.

On the occasion ,the official appealed to citizens to promptly inform the Food Authority's teams about the elements involved in adulteration, urging them to fulfil their responsibility as vigilant citizens.
