Gilgit:: Border forces of Pakistan and China conducted a joint patrolling exercise at Mantika Pass, located at an altitude of approximately 4,700 metres above sea level, marking what was described as the world’s highest joint patrolling exercise.
According to a spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan Police, the exercise was held on September 15.
The Khunjerab Security Police (KSP) undertook a challenging two-day journey through high-altitude and difficult mountainous terrain to reach the designated meeting point.
The spokesperson said the joint exercise reflected the enduring friendship and close brotherly ties between Pakistan and China and reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to further strengthening cooperation, coordination and mutual support.
The exercise also highlighted the close coordination between the border forces of the two countries in the challenging high-altitude region, he added.
