Chiniot: Faisalabad Commissioner Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh has strictly directed that patients undergoing treatment in government hospitals across the division be provided with medicines directly at their bedsides in their respective wards.
He issued these instructions while visiting the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Chiniot along with Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, where he inquired about the availability of medicines from patients in various wards.
The Commissioner inspected several departments, including the dialysis ward and the medical emergency unit, and reviewed the medical facilities and treatment being provided to patients.
He stated that no patient should be referred to other hospitals unnecessarily or without a consultant’s recommendation. He directed the DC to identify the reasons behind referrals, adding that if the number of referral cases was rising due to lack of machinery, arrangements would be made to procure the necessary equipment.
The Commissioner emphasized that no obstacles would be tolerated in ensuring the benefits of the Punjab Chief Minister’s revolutionary health initiatives reached ordinary patients without interruption.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the hospital at all times.Later, Commissioner Faisalabad Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, reviewed the construction progress of the Chiniot-Faisalabad dual carriageway.
While receiving an on-site briefing from the Executive Engineer (XEN) Highways, he said its construction was a long-standing public demand that has been rapidly completed; however, the finishing work must also be finalized without delay so that citizens can fully reap the benefits of this mega-project.
