PFA discards 15 dozen rotten eggs in Khanewal


Multan: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) intensified crackdown on food businesses using rotten and substandard eggs to prepare bakery products and discarded 15 dozen rotten eggs taking action against a bakery in Green City. Mian Channu.



According to the PFA Public Relations Wing Multan Division. a safety team raided the bakery on the directions of PFA Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed and recovered foul-smelling and rotten eggs.



The team found that the substandard eggs were intended to be used in the preparation of cakes. rusks. biscuits and other bakery items. The recovered eggs were destroyed on the spot. while an FIR was registered against the bakery owner. The bakery’s production was also stopped and the premises were ordered to remain closed till improvement.



PFA Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed said that operations against elements involved in preparing unsafe food were continued and strict action would be taken against those putting public health at risk.
