POL import bill decreases by 5. 19 % to $1. 27 bln in July 2026


Islamabad: The imports of the overall petroleum group decreased by 5. 19 percent during the first month of the current fiscal year 2026-27, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.



The total imports of the petroleum group during July 2026 were recorded at $ 1, 276. 732 million against imports of $ 1, 346. 552 million during the same month of last year.



Among petroleum commodities, the import of petroleum products decreased by 22. 61 percent, from $ 635. 049 million last July to $ 491. 492 in July 2025 whereas the imports of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) decreased by 23. 60 percent from $ 231. 262 million last year to $ 176. 680 million



Similarly, the import of petroleum crude surged by 29. 81 percent from $ 398. 182 million to $ 516. 898 million while the import of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) went up by 11. 71 per cent in the first month and stood at $ 91. 662 million as compared to $ 82. 054 in the corresponding month of last year.



Meanwhile, on a month-on-month basis, the petroleum group imports witnessed a decrease of 33. 14 percent during the month as compared to the import of $ 1, 909. 515 million in June 2026.
