Sargodhga: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested 22 alleged criminals from various parts of the district and recovered a large quantity of contraband, including drugs, illegal weapons, and liquor, during a series of raids.
According to police, teams from different police stations conducted operations in their respective jurisdictions and apprehended the suspects. The arrested individuals were identified as Aslam, Ghulam Rasool, Munir, Kareem, Abdul Samad, Sohaib, Sohail, Kamran, Mumtaz, Naveed Asghar, Saleem, Mukhtar, Muzmail, Mumtaz, Nadeem, Shafique, Sharafat, Sqlain, Ahmed, Ehsan, and others.
During the raids, police recovered three kilograms of hashish, two kilograms of opium, 108 litres of liquor, 23 litres of wine, three pistols, four guns, one Kalashnikov, three rounds, 70 bullets, and valuables worth millions of rupees.
Police said further investigation was under way, while cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under relevant laws.
