Multan: The Multan Regional Police have finalized a comprehensive security plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), under which more than 4,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed to ensure foolproof security for 220 processions and 44 Milad gatherings across Multan, Vehari, Khanewal and Lodhran districts.
The security arrangements have been finalized on the directives of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan Usman Akram Gondal, with special measures put in place to maintain law and order and provide a safe and peaceful environment to citizens participating in the religious celebrations.
According to the security plan, extensive deployment will be made along the routes of all processions and at the venues of Milad programmes. Sensitive processions and gatherings will be closely monitored through CCTV cameras, while participants at sensitive locations will undergo security screening through walk-through gates and metal detectors.
In accordance with the directives of the Government of Punjab, monitoring through Safe City cameras will also be ensured to further strengthen surveillance and enable an effective security response.
Elite Force, Traffic Police, Special Branch and other relevant police units will also perform security duties. Heavy police contingents will be deployed along procession routes, while special traffic arrangements have been made to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and minimize inconvenience to the public.
RPO Usman Akram Gondal said maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of citizens during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is the police’s foremost priority. He directed all officers and personnel to remain highly alert throughout the celebrations and ensure strict implementation of the security plan.
He categorically directed police officers to exercise utmost vigilance, adding that no negligence or lapse in security arrangements would be tolerated during any procession or Milad programme.
The Multan Regional Police said all available resources are being utilized to ensure peaceful observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and protect the lives and property of citizens throughout the region.
